I am looking to start a .com business similar to YouTube but instead of using the concept of video sharing use it as a music sharing site with the hope of minimizing counter fitting music and contributing to the music industry to determine correct No1 spots etc. Any one interested in a partnership for the concept PM and I can expand on the idea. Any one with any opinions on the idea add to the trend. Thanks

I'm going to assume you are refering to self made music, much like YouTube is self made video?
I think the market segment would be a lot smaller for self made music in that any participant would
actually have to have some musical talent. Just about anyone can get a camcorder, or even a webcam pretty cheap these days and put out video content in short order. On the other hand investment in musical intruments, years of practice, etc? Of course if your a vocalist, and have some knowlege of music composition, and own a Mac/PC, you could always go the Garage Band/Cakewalk route. I think they are both royalty free?

How you are going to tackle copyright issue?, since these are potential issue for which you should have prepared in advance.

expect if you want to broke the copyright, otherwise its illegal if you want to continue your idea without having the copyright
