I want a developer who knows MVC/MySql/PHP/Javascript/Ajax with (X|D)HTML and CSS and can develop a W3C-compliant Web site using these tools.
This is for an online university. You will be responsible for developing the look and feel of the site, which is NOT to look like Podunk U, the partyversity: it's a serious site.
When the site is up and running it will be translated into 5 languages other than English.
Content will be continually updated by our own staff, not by the developer.
The database requirements have been specified but you will have to add implementation details.
The site must accept credit card payments - not Paypal - in multiple currencies.
It will have a shop with up to 1000 items and must be capable of shipping internationally.
All software used must be open source, with no Microsoft anything, no obfuscation, nobody else's proprietary code. If you think there are existing templates that can be used, by all means use them to shorten your development time but without trying to pass them off as your own work.
I insist on dealing directly with the people who do the work.
You will work to agreed deadlines. Payments will be made at agreed milestones. There will be no upfront payments of any kind - been there, done that, they stiffed me for the T-shirt.
Payment will be made only into a bank account in the name of the entity i am dealing with, whether a company or a person. it would be nice if you can accept credit cards.
I expect that a first cut will be up and running in 2 weeks, and it can be tweaked and prettified later.
We must communicate on yahoo with cam, and i must have a working and attended telephone number to stay in contact.
