There's a little city in the US called New York. They happened to have a paper (and a nice dotCom site, I might add)

The New York Post now is the featured "site of the week" in mTld's Showcase

Hype? You decide

consider yourself rimmed

i wonder if the bashers will be around for this? no they'll stick to their usual threads like the cowards they are :sold:

great news. for those who actually are knowledgable in this area, this sort of thing is happening in .mobi every day.
no other area of domaining has this many new sites springing up, no other extension from established players and new players
bring it on

So? They're nobodies. In fact they're only owned by Robert Murdoch's NewsCorp. one of the biggest media companies in the world, that has been adding more and more .mobi sites to their multiple divisions. But.., I'll rep you for taking the time to show that businesses and companies are not using or adapting the .mobi extension.

So there you have it people. This can't be corporate adoption, it must be hype.

I wonder how much hype we will be seeing this year, then? Aye my dotMobi mates. ;)

I typed in "ny post mobile site" into google and I get

www.nypost.com/avantgo/

In fact even typing "nypost.mobi" only gives results for mtld and a couple of other .mobi fan sites.

It the a case of real use/development or simply getting a web address to resolve? Other than sites discussing the .mobi tld has there been any mention of it?

Uh...are you going to type in "ny post mobile site" in your mobile browser to try to find the New York Post or are you simply going to type nypost.mobi? Maybe I'm missing something here. Keep in mind, this just went live. My new sites take awhile to show up as well.

You're also most likely using a full web SE instead of a mobile one (more likely in a real life scenario). I've got to say that mobile search engines are far from good at this point though.

What makes you think it just went live?

How is anyone going to find that .mobi site?, the nypost has never mentioned it, the only people who have are mltd, namepros and one other .mobi forum.

Right, my point is nobody has ever mentioned this aside from it being "mltd site of the week", even the ny post itself. If mtld next week had google.mobi listed as site of the week would people get all excited about that as well?

So, does this mean they won't?? Or just because they haven't yet, means they won't ever because you couldn't find it or something related today??

No idea, all I know is they have done nothing with it thus far. The reality of the situation is mtld hasen chosen a site for site of the week that nobody has even heard of before....it isn't big news.
