Nice catch, DSL! Looks like the .net was purchased by the owner of the developed .INFO.

I can't believe this was left unregistered while the .net's selling for 3000 EU.

3,000.00 EUR Euro = 3,553.54 USD

I noticed this as well when searching for generic german domain names. Try it with the search feature at eurodns.com, and you'll see that while the .de and .info are usually registered, the .com is sometimes not.

This for me confirms what's discussed in a dnjournal article ( http://www.dnjournal.com/columns/dotde.htm ), that Germans prefer .de, followed by .info, and optionally .com. It's almost unbelievable, but it seems to be the emerging pattern in Germany. So, if you find a good generic German word that's taken in .de, but not in .info and .com, your best bet would be to reg the .info, not the .com!

VERY interesting, and highly appropriate here in this example! :tu:
Great read, as well ... and brought to us free of charge by the Duke.

Bingo!
I can't imagine why they wouldn't take interest ... though may place less of a premium on it (versus the ".INFO" or ".NET"), generally ... according to above. Please keep us posted here, DSL ... if your internet connection permits. :)
Best of Luck.

WOOOO! DSL, you hit a bingo here!!!
I think the folks over at .INFO would be very interested in the .COM version of the domain name!
I would ask an upward of $3000.00 US. Good luck and keep us posted DSL!

No surprise, since they paid so much for .net and failed to ante up $10 for the .com!
