Just a little advice since you asked for it...,Try not to get clouded by the excitement of domaining by thinking it's a ticket to get rich quick or to bank on a big sale because you found a (.) whatever that you can't believe is avail because of this and that. Read and learn as much as you can before buying/registering any domains and figure out a strategy that works for you. Whether it's reselling, developing, parking, or whatever. My advice to all newbies is to dip your toe before taking a plunge. Hope I don't come off too preachy. Just trying to help you avoid the modus operandi of 90.00045% of new domainers (check the appraisals section for validity).
