Free proxy host? Do you realize how intensive a proxy is on a web server? And the amount of resources that it uses? If you do find something for free, it will probably suffer pretty bad downtime. This is one thing that should be paid.

Hi Syed,

I have couple of proxies. I tried few hosts..

I got one host very cheaply but the problem with that is UPTIME.. It used to go down many times in a day..

Hope u can find a good host as per ur requirements..

I recommend to start with any small pkg with any reliable hosting service..

Regards,

Be careful, almost all hosts specifically disallow proxies in their TOS.

i honestly don't think you will find a reliable shared host that will allow you to run a proxy

I run a couple of lowish traffic proxy's on dreamhost, this is from their TOS:
The customer agrees to make use of DreamHost Webhosting servers primarily for the purpose of hosting a website, and associated email functions. Servers are shared with other customers, and as such IRC-related activities, BitTorrent software, or severely CPU intensive CGI scripts (e.g. chat scripts, proxy scripts, scripts which have bugs causing them to not close properly after being run) are not encouraged. IRC bots and bouncers (BNC) specifically may not be run on any DreamHost Webhosting server, and if your processes are adversely affecting server performance disproportionately DreamHost Webhosting reserves the right to negotiate additional charges with the Customer and/or the discontinuation of the offending processes.
So it sounds like you can run them, but only as long as they don't affect other people on the server, and i have so far not been warned by them.
