An appraisal and your thoughts on development would be appreciated.

I was thinking Forum at most. I think that I would have to spend the rest of my life studying types of aircraft to do anything more.

Thanks
Charles

Thanks amenzl. I like your number. I was hoping somewhere in the $5000 range. It has been suggested that I develop it into a classified ads site. Sooner or later I have to stop selling and keep some of these good domains I've accumulated and develop them so I can have some long term income. That's why I'm hesitant to sell.

And I'll bet ya a quarter that I have LESS patience than you do ... and it gets me in trouble. $5000 would come and go quickly ... but ... I never know what I'm going to do from day to day. No patience.

But you've given me something solid to work with and think about and I do appreciate it.

BTW, if you don't mind saying, where would you hang out your For Sale sign ?

Charles

I wouldn't develop. Too much work and it would be worth about the same value imo. I wouldn't park it either. I would create a simple page stating that it was for sale and have a contact form. If this was mine I'd sell it for $5000 minimum (quick sale).

Someone w/ more patience (I barely have any) could get much more. Great score - Congratulations!

With all due respect, getting $5,000 for a .us domain is wishful thinking. Candy.com sold for $3 million, and a short time later candy.us only went for about $1,100.

That being said, if you need the money, sell it for whatever you can get for it. If not, hold onto it for five+ years.

But Candy from the US just doesn't have the impact on people that US Aircraft does. A few examples:

CheapCars.us went for over $9000. It takes roughly the same search volume.

xBoard went for $12,500 and only takes 33,000 searches.

Dental Implants takes about 25% as much search volume ... $3,900

Hardcore $5600. Miami $15,000.

I could go on all day but the only thing that's really going to matter is who wants it and how badly they want it.

Thanks guys

Candy.us sold for over $1300+. I own it, and have had much higher offers on it since I bought it. It also sold near the worst of the economic times in 2009 on a crappy venue. Venue matters.

I have sold countless decent .US domains in the Low $X,XXX range or higher, the most recent being OliveOil.us for $1,300.

Aircraft.us is a good domain, although there are several similar terms to it.

The thing is .US reseller value has a cap. Even the very best terms rarely sell at auction for more than $2K - $3K. The best bet is to find an end user, which do exist for premium .US

You are making the mistake of comparing your domain to some fluke sales.

At the same time you could cherry pick really good terms that sold for cheap in .US

"Dental Implants" is also one of the most important Dental related terms. It has a massive CPC of $4.80 - $6.67 due to the targeted nature, Aircraft is $1.27 - $1.68.

Miami.us is a GEO of one of the top cities in the US. GEO.us are always popular sellers.

And nuestar owns Geo.us - That sucks :)

As for aircraft.us i'd develop it, very loyal followers in that niche, you have the name, it's easy to develop.

A databse of aircraft made in the us would go down well.

Good luck.
