Hi ppl

I host my domains on Domain.com on windows based server and now i get the problem or the guy who's programming site for me get the problem, because have to litlle experience with windows based servers.

He wrotre to me:

I have a problem with sorting and changing case for the strings, having
lithuanian characters.
I've changed a one table encoding to utf8, now it's finding words, if I'm
searching with lithuanian characters, but it doesn't sorting properly and
doesn't work UPPER nor LOWER functions.
About sorting: I've read in MySQL 4.* is working COLLATION stuff. But if I
send queries with COLLITE instruction, while trying to alter some tables
definitions, it throws an error.
UPPER and LOWER function should work by utf-8, sincerely to say.

Could somebody help with it,please?

Big thanx in advance :)

Looks like the issue is really in the database implementation. Is that MySQL? In SQL Server you can handle by treating field definitions as nvarchar rather than varchar; not sure in MySQL. Regardless, your developer should be able to handle; tell him to google "international character set" and MySQL.
