I'm writing a Chinese article to be translated into English too. Here are the terms I use in Chinese with English translations.
Example: Alibaba:
品牌域名(branded domain name): Alibaba.cn or Alibaba.com
国家品牌域名 (country branded domain name): Alibaba.cn only
国际品牌域名 (globally branded domain name): Alibaba.com only
("branded" means complete match with brand)
The English terms (e.g. globally branded domain name) are quite long. What do you think if I remove the "name" part? We are already saying "domain investment", "domain conference" etc. Any better terms to use? This issue happens for countries other than the US. Obviously, .com is the standard both inside and outside the US.
Thanks
