How many Npers were into Baseball Cards when they were younger? When I was a kid Baseball Cards were my main thing I still own over about 20,000 cards. Buying and selling domains makes me still feel like that kid looking to trade baseball cards with friends or trying to get your hands on that rare card. Just some past reflection.

I probably own about the same amount of cards as you. I haven't collected since the early late 80's, early 90's, so all of my cards are from back then. The only thing is they aren't worth that much as far as I can tell. I remember everyone collected cards when I was growing up because they would be worth something. Now you can barely giveaway cards from the late 80's, early 90's unless they are/were big superstars.

When i was younger, me, my brother, and our friend had the top of our garage dedicated to card collection, and other collectors items, between the 3 of us, we have well over a million cards, I still pick up a few here and there to fill in spaces with some of my collection.

Agreed, trading domains is certainly like trading cards. I remember Pokemons, though, not baseball cards :] I have no clue why... spent all my pocket money on new packs :D I was so pissed when me and my friend split up $5 ($2.50 each) for a pack of cards, I had to get all the normal cards and he got the holographic, so he got the kick@$$ card and i was pissed :o

LOL

I have a bunch of baseball cards, mainly Yankee cards, that I still have displayed throughout my house, but I also have several shoeboxes of other cards that I haven't looked through in ages.

I remember one day quite well , I bought 5, 5 thousand card boxes full. We spent all small furtune on them. We each had our favorite players, Mine was Roger Clemens, I have every one of his cards, up until 2002, and that is including all his rookie and minor league cards.

I've been selling cards on e-bay for a while now (I had a huge collection of them from when I was a kid). Some of the really big stars sell for big bucks. If they're graded by PSA their value typically doubles or triples on e-bay.

Don't ever expect book value from e-bay unless you're really lucky. Most cards actually sell for 1/3 or less of what the "price guides" tell you. Unless they're graded, of course (and high grades can get big $$$$$ - I've seen PSA 10s go for hundreds and thousands of dollars).

Apart from that, the common cards are worth squat. I ended up throwing a lot of my commons away because I couldn't even get a dealer to LOOK at them (after trying dozens).

I was into european football cards, or what we europeans call football! Those were the good old days, sitting in kindergarden trading cards - beating eachother up when trades went bad :D

I was a huge baseball card collector from about 1986 thru 1990. My favorite thing in the world was going to card shows. I've long since gotten out of it, but still have all the cards I considered valuable at the time in storage.

Does anyone else find similarities in baseball card collecting and domain investing?

I had a few cricket and Aussie Rules cards back in the late 80's and early 90's but my card collection wasn't as large as my stamp or cloth badge collections.

I never really collected sports cards. But well, im a huge Magic The Gathering fan ;)

I play still to this day with a group of us that stay after school on thursdays for about 3 hours. (Didnt start this year yet though... waiting for it to)

The amount of cards i have well, i can probably say i have around 300k extra's

I have 25 complete mtg decks with 60-85 cards in each. Decks that cost me at least $200 to compile.

I have rare cards from when MTG first started back in 93' (Black lotus x 17) worth around $700+ on ebay for a real one, that is in mint condition. I didnt buy these, i opened packs for them. Every week, my parents buy me a box of packs to open... im a pretty avid MTG player.
