I was checking to secure my last name with .name, and while at it, I got the name.name. Just for fun. Does it have any value?

Peace,
Edip

I'm afraid It was probably just a Script malfunction. :(

Not available for registration.
Second level domain name is reserved.

A list of registrars that offer .name products can be found on the

Yes - and it still says it is available there (When you do whois on it) - while at the bottom of the page it says the same : "Not available for registration"
- Several Registrars have certain Reserved "Domains + Extension" that their scripts let get by them from time to time ...... Happens a lot :)

If it was a domain it would have great value. Anything from a gangster website to a name website. Mid-High $xxx

I've had several .name incidents when name were shown as available and turned out otherwise.. You feel happy for a while, then get a "sorry" email and fight for money refund.
So for my .names i'm paying with Paypal and just dispute the charge instead of yelling at the registrar.

There are several names in various registries that are reserved and show as available in their whois.

try 12.info, ab.biz (or any 2 char in these two tlds, which don't allow 2char domains -or-
any 800.us, biz.biz or 123.name

If the registrar's script allowed for the reg to be made and accepted pmt, there should be no prob getting a refund- most likely you will receive an email stating that the reg failed and that your pmt has been credited/refunded.
