MySpace Similar Site

Does anyone have any ideas as to how much it would cost me to have someone create a website similar to myspace for me? with the same features INCLUDING BULLETINS? - Myspace just blocked whore buttons so now all the whores are done haha. I want to create a new site where everyone can whore freely and so on.

Any ideas? - Or does anyone know of any scripts already out there for sale/free?

or get the top of the line on http://phpfox.com - it's already turnkey.

well you buy the script which is about U.S.$300 the complete phpfox and then hire an installer. - all mods/upgrades i think comes for free within a year.

or you can create it from scratch which i believe is much more expensive.

Im currently working on setting up a site with PHPizabi. It's a nice software, but definitely needs to be modded out the a**. This is definitely a problem, because I don't really know anything about web design and PHP. Though through many painstaking hours of work, I'm managing to hack the code enough to customize the look of it and installed a phpBB mod. I estimate it'll take me another month or 2 before I'm ready to go live, but it's coming along.

If I had the $300 I'd definitely buy phpFox, because I think it's alot easier to customize everything.

I think it will cost you a lot and I personally do not see any reason for building the site from scratch.. go with turnkeys

you might want to think about hiring someone else... it shouldnt take 7 months for someone who actually knows what they're doing. I wouldn't think so at least.

KIG, do you mean easy for the members to use or the admin? All of the scripts are easy for the members to use.

All of the scripts I've seen range in price from $0 - $2500 and all offer about the same amount of functionality. Regardless of which you ultimately decide to use, if you ever hope to have a unique site structured around the script, you still need to know a decent level of graphic design, html, php, and mysql. phpFox seems to have a decent layout and easy color schemes straight out of the box, which is nice, but it's $300. Thats not a bad price, but I'm poor so I go with phpIzabi. Besides, phpIzabi is scheduled for a new release in August under the name Alicia, which should have some big improvements, but we'll have to wait and see.

You could probably do it yourself in less than 7 months, not knowing anything about php and mysql at the start
