My First Negative Reputation

Hm, just noticed I got my first negative reputation (anonymous, of course) for a thread from December of last year (http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?p=385258#post385258).

I don't mind the neg, if warranted, but being called a foul name irks me somewhat, particularly when I don't know what it is I've done and the person chose not to identify themself.. a pretty cowardly way to act IMO.

Sure its not a big deal but just the same we should know who left it, good or bad, if someone negged me cause I appraised their name honestly at 0, well this person dont deserve any help from me as far as I'm concerned, knowing who they are will enable me to avoid them if I choose to.

not a bad idea. If someone is leaving a negative maybe their name should be open for the world to see

That bites, but anonymous neg's do help protect people that may honestly be afraid of recourse from someone for bad rep points.

Nah, said, "He is a c*nt"... splendid vocabulary IMO.

Like I said, I have no idea why it was left re: that particular thread and I seem to have lost only one rep point in any case. It's just the principle of the thing, I guess, that the neg was anonymous and unwarranted.

Granted, I myself have left a few (2, I think) negs in the past for disruptive threads, but I was sure the recipients knew who left them.

No big deal... I don't see that it's reflected in my feedback or profile anyway and apparently several members have seen fit to leave me positive feedback since then to make up for it ;) Thanks, guys!

Dave, was the message F*** OFF? We know who was sending those. Go to Admin and they will remove it.

That isnt very nice at all, its like one of the worst bad words a person could use and so untrue. I would sure like to know who said that as I sure as heck dont want anything to do with that NP Member.

Its not fair one bit... not knowing who this Member is, why protect this persons identity from the Member receiving the negative rep?

as you "may" have guessed Dave.. I have TONS of neg rep points lol. People just don't enjoy being confronted i guess.

Really though, you can't worry about it. (albeit, your seems to be rather jeuvenile at best and should be removed)... I laugh at mine, and I'm sure most do to a certain extent. I dont think (or use it myself) as a tool to determine how much I like a person or whatever, but more so, for me it's a tool to base my feelings on a particular POST (even though the system is set up to poo poo that line of thinking in making it so you can only do it so often).

one out of how ever many you have isn't a big deal, my rate is.. like 1 in 10 I think.. so don't worry about it. Anyone posting on NP's has only to read 2 or 3 of your posts to realise your a commodity and not a liability.

Take the good with the (one) bad.. and enjoy :)

I'm not concerned really, just a bit dismayed at the juvenile approach.

Thanks for your comments, all...

I don't think it had anything to do with that thread really - Do you dave ? - More than likely as David stated already ... One of his Appraisals didn't set well or plain old jealousy :)

No, I expect it's someone I rousted a bit at one point or another.. or maybe they don't even know me at all and were just trying out the rep button, lol... funny it's such an old post.
