I no one listens to the radio anymore and everyone skips the commercials with their DVR.

In my wife's family, whenever the kids made an "everyone" statement, her dad immediately said "name five". I think what you mean is Everyone I know...

Everyone is a broad statement so how about a lot. I can't remember the last time I watched a live program on TV. Everything I watch is recorded and I skip every single commercial every single time.

What radio test? :xf.smile:

If there was such a thing, Trivago would have never passed! :P

Or Google or many others. Radio Test is a component, but its not a final factor as a pass or fail.

As for radio's place in the world, tell the 25 milllion PAYING customers of Sirius (ironically a radio test failure) that radio is dead. Some of their channels have commercials that people largely set through. And while DVR's are prolific, its easy to forget that there are millions of people in the US without one, many still using an antenna for their TV coverage.

I guess you don't drive a car..
Yes I do but there's this new technology from a company called Apple that makes the radio a thing of the past. :)

It can be really hard to see how stratified our circle of friends/acquaintances is. It isn't until you do something that takes you way outside your normal life that it really hits you in the face.

Do all your friends have a bank account? A credit card? Pay bills online?

Walmart does a thriving business making payments for people without bank accounts or credit cards.

Do you read contracts before you sign them? If yes, that means you can understand what they say & care about the consequences of not meeting their terms. Many can't read that well. If your credit is already trashed and you are looking at a shut-off notice or eviction in a day or two, you will sign almost anything to solve that problem. Consequences are a long range issue.

It is really easy to make sweeping generalizations without realizing the narrow world view on which they are based. :)
