I hope this is right forum for this question. I have a typical html site that sells service and i wanted to move to Wordpress for ease of updating.

What is the best method for me to do it without disruption of services and will it affect my rankings with Google?, i am usually in the top 1-3 spots for the keyword.

I was thinking of using the Platform Pro framework, is that good?

Maybe someone can point out a good tutorial on the subject.

Install wordpress in a local server
I would advice you to copy your existing pages and paste in to worpress.
rewrite the url using .htaccess. edite the data base then move in to live host.

It should not affect your site rankings, although it may seem like it does for the first couple of weeks. It will get back to normal rather quickly though. Wordpress has a nice feature that calls search engines to your site, meaning they will get updated on the serps faster usually.

If you already have an existing site, you should install Wordpress into it's own subdirectory otherwise you'll have to do some rewrites in .htaccess as iqbal77 mentioned. I definitely wouldn't recommend installing Wordpress into the root directory of an existing site.

Make a copy of database of installed wordpress and then install that copy of database in other place where you want to move your wordpress. Also move Images through FTP. Everything of your wordpress will remain the same without any change.
Its a clean way to transfer or move your wordpress from one place to another.

Besides that what said others, Wordpress will give u some ranking kick up. U must add and configure properly some SEO plugin and will be great. Wordpress is great optimized on technical side.

When you switch, try to keep the URL links and meta tags the same. It shouldn't affect SEO too much if you copy the content and link structure over.

When you switch, try to keep the URL links

If you can't keep them the same, set up 301's in your .htaccess file redirecting each old URL to the corresponding new one.
