results on 4/27/07 (about 2 years ago)....

Are you saying there are over 34 million fully developed stand-alone ".MOBI" websites ... indexed in Google?
I remember sampling like this a couple of years ago, and ensuing discussion ... and the results included the vast majority being parked pages; including domain name registrar pages, etc. :red:

Thanks for the clarification.

You know for a fact that is not what the OP was saying. Funny how you can be cool in other threads but when it comes to .mobi your posts are just nonsense.

He had also added, "the more people know, the more it will grow!" in the initial post ... I'm simply seeking fair clarification in its context as the topic has been discussed here in the past, IMHO. :gl:

Thanks again.

"Cool" being an extremely relative term...

This is simply avoidance behavior ... how many actual stand-alone developed .MOBI websites each with unique and compelling content realistically exist three years later?
Perhaps 1,250 - 1,500+ ... maybe more that no one will ever see or know about? :gl:
Substance.

From the very familiar (read, stale) "major brands" list, and given the plethora of mass corporate "M Dots" adoption - namely; m.google.com and m.yahoo.com - how many on the "list" are only simple redirects, and as importantly ... how many new companies have actually developed their own stand-alone .MOBI's along with related promotions? :guilty: :snaphappy:

Caveat Emptor, friends! :yell:

How is this encouraging? ie - is the growth in google results any different to other new tlds and is it better than what was expected in 2007? I remember people used to pul out these sort of stats for .info and .biz a few years ago. I guess the bare numbers sound impressive but what does it mean for people holding these names?

it simply means awareness and development is growing. naysayers are stating that .mobi is dying, but i'd say that these numbers show just the opposite.

btw... nice list pred!

^ How? :red:

Due to the fact that there are now more undeveloped parked pages within the Google results? How do these numbers help those folks that have either already lost their shirts with the ".mobi", or - more importantly - are facing very difficult financial decisions with whether or not they should hold out and renew yet for one more year? :guilty:

Show us some actual substance!
Thank you.

Thank you for making my point, and did we not see similar proportions with both .INFO & .BIZ (as mentioned above), as well as the lowly .TV ... how many actual stand-alone developed ".MOBI" websites are there in those Google results - and how many pages exist (and are indexed) on average for each unique & compelling ".MOBI" website? :|
Please provide some substantive stats that mean something and have relevance ... to those considering whether or not to spend even more :$: money to renew for yet one more year! :yell:

I think what many naysayers are saying is that .mobi is being left behind in terms of adoption for mobile sites, they are also saying things are turning out nothing like what most .mobi speculators thought a couple of years ago. Little doubt usage has grown, but that is basically starting from zero. You can see what .mobi speculators really think from the way .mobi valuations have gone over the last 18 months.

Like I said, people used to pull out these stats for .biz and .info as well, years later and they are still seen as junk extensions, that is regardless of how many pages google indexes.

What do you mean "us?" You're the only one asking. Do you mean there's someone else here as clueless as you?

Trading.info just sold for $7800 Euro ($10,476) via Sedo. Sure sounds like a "junk extension" to me!

You'd really like to have the ban button here, wouldn't ya' snoop?
