This project involves several websites which I will detail below.
AlertServ
This would be the first, most important part of the project. The concept of the website will be around the monitoring and managing Windows Servers. I would like the design to be semi-original (no template rip) with a Windows XP/Windows 2003 Theme.
There is no company logo so you will need to create one from scratch as well as all pages, buttons, graphics, and some banner and button ads for advertising.
This site does not need any php work but I can see it needing flash. I like a simple clean look based upon the theme mentioned above. I can also see needing a custom template for some monitoring graphics.
There may be an order form, not SSL, so users can answer some questions. Most likely this can be radio buttons or drop down boxes with a few text boxes. The form would be e-mailed when completed.
The site will integrate with PayPal for purchases and as new services will be offered, it needs to be updateable/expandable by myself or you can choose to remain as web designer.

ProWinHost
This is actually 2 sites and can be a nice template used for both. One is .com for Web Hosting and the one is .net for reseller hosting. Since they are really the same company, they can look almost the same and share many of the same pages with just slight rework here and there.
The site is Professional Windows Hosting using the Helm control panel on Windows 2003 Server.
Again, there is no logo and there is nothing for either of these websites. I kind of like a blue, cheery, and clean, uncluttered look but am open. This site would include a support forum which would need installed, customized, and maybe a php helpdesk package support ticket system. I see these available for free and many web hosts are using them already.
A few easy banners/buttons would also be needed for ads.
I plan to use PayPal again for payments.
Platinum-DNS
A super simple website that is a DNS server provider. I would not expect the site to be more than 3 to 4 pages and can be a sort of template syle site. A banner/button ad too.
The theme should include platinum (metal) and DNS (www/Internet) and I this a slogan is "Platinum DNS. When you want the very best." There is no content and the site would be PayPal for payments.

This website is already running and was featured in Network Computing Magazine in April and is home to the "MRTG for Dummies" tutorial. If you visit the website (www.netmon.org), you can see my design skills suck. Maybe a redesign is in order for the place.
I am totally undecided on a design but naturally it sort of needs to be Network Monitoring related. It could use a logo and since the site isn't really a selling site but a passion of mine, it can be anything we decide.
I would like a way to add reviews of software quicker and have the visitors vote/comment on the software.
Payment and Compensation
I would like to propose trading services if possible. My focus will be providing monitoring and managing Windows based servers. The hosting/reselling part of the operation is just to pay for the server I purchased and to understand the needs of web hosts.
I would like to offer a reseller account for free. This would be a Windows 2003 Server with Helm as a control panel. You could use the reseller account to make a continuing monthly income. I think around 5 GB of space and 20 GB of bandwidth would give you a nice amount to work with as a reseller.
The reseller account would remain free as long as you continued to provide web design updates for the websites mentioned above. If you grew as a reseller, we can work out an arrangement to buy additional resources at a discount.
I will also provide you with a nice website for free 1 GB Space and 5 GB bandwidth. Again on a nice Windows Server. (asp, perl, mySQL, php, e-mail, ftp)
The TOS/AUP for your account and your clients would need to be within the TOS/AUP of Rack Shack. You can review them here - http://www.rackshack.net/english/aboutus/tos.asp and http://www.rackshack.net/english/aboutus/aup.asp I am not against adult content under some curcumstances too.
You can further compensate yourself if you are skilled in php/scripts and such. You can advertise your serivces on the AlertServ website and have your own PayPal button to collect money for services. You set your own prices.
Naturally, you can advertise your web design services on the AlertServ website and the hosting sites.
Of course, you may want some financial compensation up front and I offer some limited amount of cash. I understand the value of your work.
Final Note
If you decide to do the reseller account, I will require you to be fax a copy of your picture ID and sign a simple form. This is something all resellers will need to do for an account.
