I don't want a fortune...ideally I'd like £7500 (replace my old jalopy)
Had it years and it's paid its keep handsomely.
Refused a genuine £50k 20 years ago. I always thought it was going to be my pension ....until the bubble burst
How would you market this domain to get a quick sale?

Nice name!

In today's landscape, a geo‑domain like LondonHotel.com no longer guarantees strong organic visibility the way it did 20 years ago. Competing for top placement now typically requires substantial ongoing investment in SEO or paid traffic.

If you don't intend to keep the site operational, you can simply redirect it to a sales lander at one of the major marketplaces.

Just be mindful of the large commission differences between platforms before choosing where to point it.

Oh yeah I'm aware of that - hence "until the bubble burst"

Back in the day it really performed well and it owes me nothing now :)
But...in the right hands it has good potential if only being a good fit for newer hospitality marketing skills.
Now I've taken first steps in actively trying to sell it - it will be interesting to see what it will achieve

I was lucky enough to get into domains and web hosting/site building when we could genuinely guarantee Google top spot. ...those really were THE days!

Instead of your current acquisition contact form on the live website, you could link that button to a sales lander where you can either have a fixed Buy-It-Now (BIN) price, or a Price Request form. Your website will remain fully operational.

Let me know if you'd like how to do this on the marketplace side.

Ah yes - that's an idea. The current site I cobbled together quickly one afternoon a short while ago. It was purely to give it some feel of a working domain (but not to pull wool over anyone's eyes - just to invoke some inspiration)

Great. Some domain marketplaces offer Lease-to-own (LTO), as well, which generally means you can set the price slightly higher, and have monthly LTO income. You can select the number of months for the LTO, often from 2 to 60 months. Some marketplaces offer a LTO downpayment option, as well. At the end of the LTO period, the domain will be transferred to the buyer.

Now that's interesting and something I think I kind of knew about....but never looked into it. But to be honest....following a devastating family event we had to sell our main business at a vastly reduced price and as I enter my retirement years find myself with no funds. So I could do with the one hit price to be honest so we can have a bit of a treat. I'm realistic to know that it won't get much more than £5k ...and to do that on lease...just wouldn't cut it for us. But useful headsup anyway! I put it on Sedo today and am considering going to auction with it. What are your thoughts about auctions with Sedo?

You're welcome. Some but not all marketplaces let you set GBP as currency. In GBP, the amount can be set lower, which creates a psychological advantage.
