The article is both misleading and inaccurate.

It describes PHP as more suitable for 'Doze before going on to say it is suitable for Linux. Users are notoriously lazy when it comes to reading information. So it can be reasonably safely assumed that some people will get as far as the 'Doze statement and go away thinking PHP is for 'Doze only. Highly misleading.

PHP is Open Source and designed for web use. Linux is the server operating system of choice on the web, having far more users than 'Doze does. Follow the logic, not the BS.

Far worse, however, is the untrue part of your article.

It goes on to state that 'Doze is required to use more complex programmes such as Perl. This is simply not true.

Open Source programming languages tend to be written so they are usable on all platforms. So you can use Perl, Python, PHP and more on both 'Tux and 'Doze. They are the "P" in the ubiquitous LAMP and LEMP stacks - worth noting, these are fully Open Source stacks and work best on Linux.

'Doze has proprietary programming languages. They cannot be used on any other platform. You can argue until the cows come home about which are the "best", or most appropriate, languages to use, and many people do, from both sides.

But you cannot say you "need" 'Doze to handle anything sophisticated. asp, and NET2 are 'Doze proprietary. There is a 'Doze proprietary version of java and there is also an Open Source, the original, version. Some choose to use proprietary. But they can only do so on a 'Doze platform. However, the Open Source languages are often preferred, including for extremely complex cases on 'Doze platforms and these are not 'Doze dedicated by any stretch of the imagination.
