.LA domains, how safe are they?

Hi all,

I know this was previously discussed in multiple threads but I wanted to get an idea what you guys think of .LA domains as of 2009. I have a good keyword domain that I like a lot and want to develop, the renewal is coming up in a couple of days and I would like to renew, however I don't want to spend all my time developing it and then have it taken away. How safe is it have a 5 letter one word domain with .LA? Can registrars or people in charge in Laos just take away domains? Thanks in advance.

Except established/popular cctlds, all other cctlds has the same potential issue.
I would suggest you do not use unpopular cctlds for a serious development unless you are local registrant and marketing the site locally.

I have sold all 3 .la domain I owned in low - mid $xxx range, inc super premium keywords.
