Real nice. I'm guessing here but high xxx to mid xxxx. You have some super names!

My friend Jay would love this one... with names like this you never know what they will go for, nice one.

Very nice. This puppy would generate some decent action at an auction. Vanity names can do very well. $XXXX might be a stretch but with 2 motivated buyers, it could hit that.

Hi, i would but i can't develop. Maybe a developer named Jay will buy it, or someone who likes Jay birds etc?

I sold a similar Name.biz recently (22M results) for $1500. It has to be worth at least low $X,XXX

I think everyone is low-balling this.

It is a name, which is better than a word, communicates personality, is easy to remember, spell and communicate. It does all this with only 3 letters. The dot info is very popular, and not just in Europe/Asia, but here as well.

Min: $1500.00
Max: $3600.00

Increase over time, those are realistic prices and are good for right now, developed or not. It would have to be more than a minisite to make it worth more. But to the right professional, it is already worth a great deal.

Remember, a domain is worth what someone will pay for it, not what you will pay for it, and not what a domainer would try to to get it for to resell it.

Great appraisal, but you forgot that it sold for some $600 recently in an auction where there were quite a few ppl going up and down about it.

Also to most it is just a name (a first name to be precise) and nothing more then that, and if I was to go after it, would only be for MY "FIRST NAME" SAKE.

And I aint really sure how you came up with that price range but two points:

1. It is a name, info (popular yes but still in .info) so mid $xxx to high $xxx is the max someone would pay for IMO keeping the extension .info in mind (by this I mean I dont see it very very popular anywhere)
2. Important: It sold for mid $xxx figure in a public auction at one of the popular domain auction house. With that I think name got it's fair value.

Personally speaking, since my first name is Jay as well, I would have stopped bidding on it after $500 mark cuz there is not much value for me to be spending that kind of money on it (where I cant earn my investment back). Also, when I have myfirst&lastname.com (note that it's a .COM)

Everyone is putting their opinion upfront on the table as requested by OP, so you cant say they are low-balling it, maybe everyone can pounce back and say you're high-balling it for odd reason.

Hi Doug,

Thank you for the detailed appraisal. As you say, the domain is only worth what someone is prepared to pay. With all the other TLDs taken and unavailable to purchase the chances of obtaining a XXXX price seems very good. Maybe someone will buy it for there partner Jay, as there are millions out there.

Thanks also to all the other domainers who have appraised the name.

I think appraisals are on the high side here.

high $xxx - low $xxxx sounds more like it.

I've sold a couple better .info domains for similar prices on auction.
Still nice buy ;)

Actually, you are making my point for me. The fact that it sold for $600 in a Domainer's marketplace indicates that it was bid on for its resale value, not what the end user would pay for the domain to actually put it to use.

Domainers are looking to multiply their investment in a domain by a factor of at least 2, and usually more. That is just good business risk management.

I personally think that the info is a successful domain and see it used all over. In relationship to .com and .net registrations it can be seen as a complete failure, but in relationship to the .US domain, I think it is highly successful.

I also consider it well known and is considered a recognizable extension. When I go to a .vg domain, I am much more wary of the services I found there.

I just sold a 7 character .com nickname for a city, with a hyphen, for $600.00. I am sure that I could sell Jay.Info for a couple grand, myself.

But you are right, that is just my opinion. Exactly what was asked for. The low-balling remark wasn't directed at anyone in particular, it was just a comment I made and I apologize if anyone think I meant it as offensive.

But in the long run, that is what I see here at NamePros, people indicating Domainer prices in their valuations, not offering what they might shoot for if they owned the domain and sold it themselves.

Afterall, the idea is to get a fair price and make some money. That's what appraisals are for, to gauge that opportunity. You don't like my opinion, no prob. It's just an opinion.

Thank you everyone for your appraisals. It will be interesting to see who's appraisal is the closest to the winning bid.

Jay is now in live sedo auction

Mid $xxx IMO, and the winning bidder won't be called Jay.

If you haven't used sedo much, then you wont know that it's known for end user selling.. and end users frequent it as well just like domainers, so we shall see how well it fairs.

But again every one has a right to their opinion ;)

my appraisal @ mid $xxx - high $xxx still stands bud!!
