Is this possible? Expand div in container

hey guys I got a wrapper div tag. the width of this div is 1000px wide. All content goes in side this. however I want one div tag to go inside this but to be full size page so not 1000px, I want to to be 100% wide but when i do that it stops at 1000px since its in the container is there another way?
