...mask a domains URL in the browser bar, so that it will read without the ext. or http, such as MyToyZ instead of http://toyz1.com? Plus, I'd like the masked term to stay in the browser bar no matter which page you browse to on the masked site.

I've tried forward and masking a domain similar to this at GoDaddy, but it won't let me do it. :-/

I don't think its possible, or at least, I've never seen it done before

Same, I've never seen it done before. You could mask another domain over the top maybe? Though you'd have to buy an extra domain. As far as i am aware it's not possible to achieve.

Using the DOM, in theory it would be possible, but its protected for what I believe are somewhat obvious reasons.

I don't think it's possible. At least I didn't hear anything of it.

Brian - I would say investigate mod_rewrite (apache) if you are on linux hosting. Its very powerful and you may be able to come up with something. I know that you can completely mask the domain to another but I am not sure about your case of wanting to remove certain text.

Hope this helps!

This isn't possible. The display of the address in the URL bar is managed by the browser and while browser bugs in the past have let people do this, those bugs have been dealt with over time. This is the kind of thing that phishing sites would love to do, so it is definitely something you would want to steer clear from even if it were possible - you wouldn't want your site to be branded a phishing site, would you?

Hmmm... I didn't even consider that. D-: To me it's just a novelty and/or branding kind of experiment.

Thanks for the advice.
