I met my ex-girlfriend over the Net in a chatroom.. we were together 3 years before we split up (tho we still remain friends). Initially she was embarrassed to tell anyone how we met but other than that, no problems relating to the Net.

Awww thats nice, it does not matter how you meet IMO.

I think more and more people now are meeting via the net

Yes! We met on a discussion list. She in the US, me in Holland. Less than a year later I moved to the US. We got married 3 weeks later, and it's been 5 years friday next week. NO REGRETS! :p

Mind you, when I first visited my (then-future) wife in the US, her parents weren't too thrilled*. After all, I could be a serial killer or something. :] I suggested to my (t.-f.) wife that I wear my 'Serial Killers Against Fascism" T-shirt (own design, and as sold in a T-shirt shop in Amsterdam) on my first visit to them. She didn't think it was such a good idea. :lol:



*Nor was her ex-husband, who, when he spotted us on our way 'home' from the airport, proceeded to jump on the hood of our (driving) car and started banging the windows, etc. The police had to get involved. All that 30 mins or so after I had set foot on US soil for the first time ever!

you know its crazy, but its tru. I go on myspace and i saw a bulletin about people going to meet each other. imo thats scarey, you dont know who u r going to meet.. especially for girls.. my advise is to get to know these people very well before meeting them. do live webcam chats, get to know them over a long period of time. and when you do meet bring a friend or 2. I have a rating site www.ratemymug.com which is also a matchmaking site where people can chat to each other, and im not sure if anyone has met up but as far as i know nothing like that has ever happened from people meeting up through my site. And i hope it never does.
