How To Clean Your LCD Screen?

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
With old-fashioned CRT's, a damp paper towel always worked well for me, and left almost no streaks or patterns.
The same on my LCD leaves some (almost) noticeable streaking.

How Do You Clean Your LCD Screen?

According to this, you can use anything from "Water with a tiny amount of soft liquid soap" to Hexane, or Petroleum Benzine. D-:

I don't ever touch the screen, ever. in the 5 years i've had my lcd moniter, i have never touched the screen itself, not even once.

as for the dust, that may gather on the monitor, stores sell "electronic cleaning wipes" which seem to work well. and since it only gathers dust, it doesnt need to be cleaned too often so one box should last you for a year or more. mines been going for at least 3 years now.

dust can also be removed with a dry paper towel very gently (so the pixels don't get ruined)

It would be better if you go in afternoon, it will dry quicker!!! You don't want spots on your screen!

I use either a cloth for removing dust, or, a very slightly damp cloth for removing fingerprints and other marks.

I smoke so I have to clean it quite often,
I use a dampened soft paper towel and
sometimes a little squirt of Windex with ammonia.

Do NOT USE DRY (or wet for that matter) PAPER Towels
They actually are very abrasive.
Best cleaning advice is a mild cleaner (anything suitable for cleaning eyeglasses) and a CLEAN, DRY Cleaning cloth

As for ruining the pixels ,the cleaning has nothing to do with ruining the actual pixels. Any damage to pixels is from excessive pressure. The pixels are on the inside of the glass . It is the anti-glare coating on the outside that gets scratched by cleaning in-correctly.

I just wipe it with a damp cloth. I have a lcd protector though to keep it from the dust and me to avoid poking it each time I see something good :D

What I clean my monitor with.

I use a damp kleenex to get the smudges off and it seems to work well. I use the wet side first then the dry side after. Hope that helps.
