How can I make Javascript work on my computer?

I've done the "enable javascript" thing, and I've downloaded the update several times and it always says it is successful, but still I can't go on any websites. I also tried downloading it to my desktop. it still always says, "you need to update or enable javascript". how else can I fix it?

Might be you have changed useragent of the browser, or the site has the problem..
Lets first know which is your browser used ?

You "can't go to any websites"?? That's not a Javascript problem. And you can't "download [it] to your desktop" -- are you talking about Java?
