Unfortunately that while I think .net is still good for anything tech related, where I do see all the new gTLD's hurting .net is in non-tech related domains. I would take vegashotels.travel or vegashotels.co before the .net.

That being said, I wouldn't actually take those either unfortunately, as the real term is VegasHotels .. which would be sell-able to a potential end-user .. I'm sorry to say I don't think any end-user would ever pick up this domain.
