I don't know man, but if you had registered something like casaseguro.pt which is Portuguese for home insurance, would be better.
the odds of a Portuguese typing home insurance over casaseguro is considerable.

hold on to it though, you never know!

I would have to appraise the domain at low to mid XXX margins -- simply because of the sales volume of the extension is low. You would be appealing to a niche market with Portuguese as it's home language. It may end up being a harder sale.

However, you should know that there are a handful of english .PT domains that have sold for XXX to low X,XXX.

The majority of these domain sales have been over Sedo -- as it seems to do well for .PT acquisitions and sales. However that's just doing a little bit of research with past market trends.

It's pronounceable, and it has a meaning and place with good intent -- I can see a company using it for their business or corporation.

@Thirwell Castle yes casaseguro.pt would be better but you would be surprised on the enormous quantity of Portuguese companies that brand them self with English words.

@Germany Rose yes your price range is a good one, i was thinking in the mid xxx$ to low xxxx$ if i can find the right enduser (like a Portuguese insurance company).

You are correct Sedo is maybe the best marketplace for this extensions but i know there's some good sales on this extension to endusers that aren't reported in any marketplace because most of the seller's do outbound to Portuguese companies.

However there's a big problem with selling this extension especially via outbound. The problem is your potential endusers are Portuguese companies and 95% of them don't really understand the value and benefits a good domain can bring you, even a big number of Portuguese marketing companies don't understand. It's very hard to educate them this will affect drastically your price and don't forget your doing outbound which also affects the price.

So a domain that maybe is in the xxxxx$ will be affected by these problems and decreases the value to xxxx$ range.

Thank you for your feedback it was great, just what i was looking for! (y)

You will have a very hard time selling the domain to a portuguese company. Nobody uses home insurance, in Portugal. You probably could have some luck regarding the number of foreigners that live in Portugal, i think thats the only angle you can sell the domain. Because for portuguese people we use "seguro da casa" which means "home insurance".

Probably mid-xxx$ if you are lucky enough to find some company that understands the value of a domain and work on the foreigners insurance market.

I'm very skeptical of buying a cctld and not using the main language of the country.

Maybe if you happen to find a company which uses "PT" has identity in some english speaking country, you can use that angle too.

Btw, you should try to focus your sales on Algarve, thats where the biggest community of english (mainly british) speakers lives.

Best of luck selling the domain.

Thank you @johnnnson that's great advice and feedback.

I see a large number of Portuguese companies branding them self in English and i had more luck selling English .pt then in the Portuguese native language.

Also see some UK companies investing in the real estate business and insurance in Portugal.

Algarve is a good place to target but Lisbon also is one good place to target there is a big community of English speakers living and doing business there. A couple of years back i remember seeing a news about some UK investor's (i think) buying all of Vila Moura so there is a deep pockets English community insurance companies can target for "home insurance".

You touch in some great points and are absolutely right, Thank you!
