Im going to attend my first art/bankruptcy auction on Sunday.

I have no idea what I will doing - probably nothing.

Although if one of those prestigious Monet's, Dali's, or Picasso's are hell of cheap (possible?) I might just buy a piece of that prestige for my dorm wall.

What do real art collectors do to understand the authenticity of works? What does the auction house do to certify works?

Maybe retarded question - but I figured since he produced over 20,000 pieces of work there has to be cheap stuff.
