Guys.Live & Chicks.Live - how would you value these 2 domains?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Are you considering selling or developing?Guys.Live & Chicks.Live - how would you value these 2 domains?
Thank you.
I am not decided yet 100%, but probably I will be selling themAre you considering selling or developing?
Awesome! They are for standard renewals, I guess around 20-25 USD/ year
Well you can lease too. Hold the names they are really nice.I am not decided yet 100%, but probably I will be selling them
Thanks a lot @RJ, much appreciatedAwesome!
Guys.Live - GREAT name. I could see going for ~$2-3k today to the right buyer, and probably more if you do a long term holding
Chicks.Live - the term "chicks" sounds a little outdated and non-pc to me. ~$500
Thanks a lot. Yes, that is my plan too. Actually, I would prefer lease them instead of selling them, as I too think it is better for me to wait for right end user and low renewals make it possible to hold them.Well you can lease too. Hold the names they are really nice.
What is the price you ask for chicks.live?
Thanks a lot @coco77
The large live cam operator would be ideal end user for them imo. This is the reason I am not really thinking of developing them, as obviously I do not have that much cams available![]()
Thousands and thousands live cam sites, all happily living in a competition, and you do not understand why any of them would like to buy category killer new gTLD ..they are all happy with .com, no matter how bad their names are - that really makes perfect senseThere are thousands and thousands of live cam sites, and a quick google search shows that they don't really care what their domain name is, outside of the bigger ones like cams.com, jasmin.com, or sexier.com. I don't understand waiting for one of these to buy it, because usually companies spend a lot of money to improve their own domain name, it doesn't make sense for them to buy something that neither improves their current domain name or is a brand protection purchase
Why do you think we shoud see lot of sales on extension which is just 2 years old?But your names are adult to me. Adult domains are very hard to sell, adult webmasters usually want .com, maybe .net and they buy names that have traffic. They dislike .xxx BTW. I don't think they are fond of other extensions. In the adult business, domain names are routinely treated like throwaway items.
Do you see a lot of adult domain sales being reported ? Especially in new extensions ? What makes you think there are buyers for these names ?
Reported sales for .live: 5 sales. Indeed, there are two adult ones - both registry sales (if they are real).
Domain Price Date Venue
diretta.live 2,022 USD 2017-02-11 Sedo
z.live 3,200 USD 2016-10-02 NameJet
sex.live 160,000 USD 2016-08-07 Rightside
porn.live 120,000 USD 2016-08-07 Rightside
casino.live 5,000 USD 2016-02-18 Sedo
But there are other extensions available for the same purpose, for example .cam.
I see that you registered chicks.cam but guys.cam is unregistered. Presumably because the regfee is $1800.
Not saying a 'lot of sales' necessarily, but more than just five. Why do you think we shoud see lot of sales on extension which is just 2 years old?
I could be wrong, but I'm only saying this could be one possible alternative. Potential buyers will look at suitable alternatives before they buy a domain from somebody. You also really feel semantic value of guys.live is the same as guys.cam?
My appraisals are quite conservative, even for .com domains.I honestly do not believe that you gave at least 1 good appraisal to ANY new gTL..if I am not right, please post the link here, I am very curious.
It is ok, I am fine with itNot saying a 'lot of sales' necessarily, but more than just five.
And like I said, the market for adult domains is difficult enough even for .com domains. You're raising the level of difficulty further.

I immediately thought of .cam as a possible substitute/competitor.

The problem is that new extensions are very illiquid, and to appraise them realistically we would need a sufficient history and sample of sales. How can you appraise a name in a TLD that has 5 reported sales ? And little history ? 2 years you said.
Of course I could appraise any name at 5K for example but it's completely theoretical. If the likelihood of a sale to an end user is 0.00001%, then what you have is not a true, liquid asset but a lottery ticket.
In my opinion it's more gambling than investment.
This is not a rebuttal, I am simply developing my line of thinking, thinking out loud.
