Very nice site. I like the content, the color schemes and platform. A few questions:

1.What software was used to generate this?
2.What type of updating do you have to do to maintain rankings?
3.Are advertiser contacts a function of the firm that developed this?
4.What is the projected time frame to generate revenue?
5.What is an approximate cost to get a site like this done?
6.How has traffic done since going from a parked site to developed? It may be a bit too early to speak on this.

Nice use of the domain. The format of the site looks a little rough to me, but I am using an old browser, on a relatively old PC, so that might be me.

Amazon is a nice merchant as a cover all - they have everything - but their commission rate is pretty low. Have you looked at any other affiliate programs?

Just off the top of my head,

Eastbay for hiking boots, and cj has companies like BackCOuntry, REI, Good Sam Club ( RVers stuff), U.S. Cavalry, Bob Wards, etc.... many are in the 8% range, commission wise.

I really don't know what software was being used for GrandCanyon.tv. I asked lot's of questions but not that one.

Site will be updated daily with both video and new text. 100% hands off from me, they do the updating.



Yes, advertising contacts are part of the agreement I have with GrandCanyon.tv. Therefore, I don't know if it's a firm decision or a case by case, but it's included here. Besides that, I go to Grand Canyon almost every year on vacation and I have advertisers I can approach on my own. However, first step is generate traffic and than contact advertisers.

Costs $700 for this, included advertising contacts, content updated, 100% hands off. Therefore, I spend my time on other things like buying and selling domains, and hanging out with my twin daughters everyday.



My projected time frame to generate revenue, 3 months. With good SEO, fresh daily content, both video, and text, within 3 months I should generate some good traffic where advertisers will take notice.



Traffic from a parked site to a developed site, really too early to tell. I had it at Whypark.com for about 1 month and in that time I got 5 backlinks from Yahoo, and visitors were about 5-10 uniques a day.

I have many affiliates in mind, but have not implemented anything yet. First thing is to generate traffic, than test different affiliate programs from there. I keep everybody posted.

Good plan. There are some parts of the site that need to be a bit more cleaner. I noticed this after the second look. I think it is highly important to generate organic traffic and then when the amount is sustainable, start driving in advertisers. More questions:

1.Does DevHub have a model to drive paid traffic to the site or is it all organic?

2.Is there a revenue share or do you get 100%?

3.Are you planning to embed a social community to create a loyalty base?

You can drive paid traffic to the site.

They do have both Revenue Share and you can get 100%. Again, this needs to be discussed up front which I did.

This site is going to have a Web 2.0 to it, such as a social community/blog as well. Again, nothing is set in stone, but I can have them implement things as we go.

To get more info on things and get specific answers related to what your needs may be you want to contact Rob Monster; [email protected]. Rob is a very big name in the industry and very well connected and I am in constant contact with him regarding implementing some of the ideas I like to get done.

However, like I always tell people, you can wait and see what develops on my end and I will keep you posted as well.

Thanks again. For someone such as Rob, what is the overall incentive? I can't imagine he is making huge margins through web development even at $700/site. If you are not doing any revenue share, I would imagine that any outright sale of the name is 100% proceeds to you.

Keep us posted. This definitely seems like a good approach with little time, reasonable cost and possible revenue. I think the toughest thing to manage will be the lack of control. How do you get them to do updates quickly and more importantly reach deadlines without them being overwhelmed?

Regarding Rob, his overall incentive is to make money, like all of us. I don't know what he has going on behind the scenes, maybe agreement deals with advertisers, etc, revenue share models, etc.
Again, it's a case by case basis but for GrandCanyon.tv if I sell the name it's 100% proceeds to me.

I will tell you, Rob and his team has been great so far doing everything they say they were going to do, when they are going to do it, and everytime I asked a question it get's answered within 1 hour.
It's early, but I told them if all goes well here, we can talk about some of my other sites.

Ammar, been around the domain industry since 1998 and I really have a good feeling about these guys so far. If they grow to fast and can't keep up, than you hire more people and hopefully that will be the case. Time always tell and let's see what happens.

Very good news to hear. After interviewing quite a few companies on web development, there always seems to be a barrier to entry (cost, loss of control, lack of meeting deadlines, credibility, etc). Your experience should serve as confidence for others to follow the same path in developing their properties. Have you received all of this in writing? I know some companies hesitate to do this.

The site looks a bit like a generic template type site.

If you were looking to make enough to cover renewal fees using a parked-page business model, I think you have succeeded.

Crisp and clean design, but not unique or growth sustainable. IMO.

Looks pretty good I think. I would take off those TV's down the left hand side though. IMO it cheapens it a little and takes your focus off of the main articles. I think it does what it is made for and I really hope it is a success.. Congrats.
