Site is currently operational and receiving between 800 and 1,000 uniques per day. Consistently in Google's top 50 searches for "gossip"

Any thoughts as to value of the site? Thanks, in advance, for your input.

It really depends, to a end user, you could get $5000 + for the domain, but wholesale, you would probably get around $500 for it.....

I hit the poll for <under $500 thinking it was just the domain name, not a developed site.

PR5, Alexa Rank 637,190, the traffic you stated....

Change my vote to $5 to $10k, that's what I would hold out for while continuing to develop the site to make it worth more!
