Hi,
First, Please see these results:

Results at Overture :
--------------------
Overture = 45,859
Google = 24,192,064
==================
Results at Google:
------------------
Overture = 5,700,000
Google = 125,000,000
==================
Overture Results as Compared to Google:
Overture shows its own name at 0.80% and Google's name at 19.35% of Google's results.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
After seeing these results, I think there's something seriously wrong either with Overture OR the Google. What's wrong with their "Searching Criteria"??

Who is correct and who is wrong about each other ?

Why and how can results of these TWO be relied upon?

Regards.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

??? - Not sure what your asking / Saying ....

Google results = How many listings google has for a particular word / Phrase

Ovt results = Monthly Searches or request @ Yahoo etc ... for a particular word / Phrase

They are not really supposed to be related .... ?

For Overture does anyone know exactly where it gets its information from. Yahoo and what else?

I'm SORRY FOR NOT BEING SO CLEAR....

I mean When you search "Overture" at "Google" and when you search "Google" at "Overture".... Am I clear???

So basically google shows its name a lot on its own search engine and Overture does not show its own name a lot in the OVT Selector tool?

Yahoo, MSN, AOL, possibly more. Who else has Yahoo bought out lately? :-/

So overture is more often mentioned than searched for, thats pretty much what your comparison shows, including all 4 results. From just 'overture' at google and 'google' at overture you can't draw any conclusions at all.

As previously said, the google number shows how much something is mentioned around the web, and the overture how much its being searched for.

Oh yah - and AltaVista, InfoSpace, CNet & Lycos searches could all be included in Overture's numbers.

google=search engine
overture=ppc company

the number of searches made one day on google is far more higher than all other searh engines... *<|
