I've still got English.Gold, but I haven't looked at it for a while. Do gold domains have any value at the moment. Godaddy seems to value it at about $900. I hope that is a bit low in view of the annual registration fee.

Not mine, but fools.gold regged since 2015, probably the best of the lot.

Their renewal fee is pretty golden.

Aztec.Gold ...I've just renewed for another year. Not cheap but I think it will be worthwhile in the long run. Only time will tell.

Since you are investing as a domainer, I just want to understand your thought process behind this? I am asking this because I have seen your posts and you seem knowledgeable. Not questioning you.

What kind of person or business or service do you think will develop it?
What is your buyer persona?

All I can think of is someone developing a Hotel or a real estate Property called Aztec Gold?
I need to have a buyer buyer persona when i buy a domain, not that I always buy good domains.

I've been hanging on to

Flip (Gold) & Ship (Gold)

- just cant bring myself to turn off auto-renew. Keep getting ideas then change them. I dont know I kind of like .gold & have so few non coms I dont feel guilty about paying the renews on these - even to keep as something I develop (at some point some day, hahaha).

Good evening and thank you for your response. To further understand my position I'd like to advise that I also own

www. 24-ct.Gold

www. 24-ct-Gold.com

I have what many would describe as quite a diverse portfolio and until recently I had a rough 50/50 split with dot.com/not.com. It is now 75/25 in favor of dot.com. This shift in my portfolio was partly through experience (this is my second year) and partly through words of wisdom and the ever changing post pandemic world. I still believe that things can change further but I have figured out my strategy (at last some would say) and this has allowed me to rotate names from my portfolio with names that have a better chance of selling and/or better names in general.

I'd imagine that there are probably a small number of names that we could say are a perfect fit for new tlds. When I think of gold the first thing that comes to my mind is the Aztecs. Maybe others are different and we each have our reasons.

I'd be thinking hotel, casino, gambling or betting, jewelry stores, South American or Mexican restaurant, bullion dealers.

This was the first year renewal and I think that out of some of the many new tlds .gold actually makes some sense. I have some others that even make my head scratch but I love them all and I'll figure out which ones to hold and which ones to fold.

No one said this journey would be easy. Shucks, if it were then everyone would be doing it....wait, you mean they are lol!!!

I had my first ever sale this week so I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. I thought it would never come.

Do you have any/many .gold yourself?

Regards,

Reddstagg

I picked up one domain, buried.gold , I might build that out a bit, link to stories of lost and found treasure, maybe put up a metal detector comparison site, etc.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply.
And that is exactly why I asked.

I don't own any .gold as the renewal is at least 65 and that is at SAV. As for me, I would rather buy a registry premium .co than renew something for 50+

Good luck on the sale
I have a few gold related domains. GoldBar dot co I paid registry premium since Gold is a safe haven in times of crises :)
I also buy lots of gold.

I intended to develop English.Gold, as the Sovereign and the Britannia are legal tender in the UK. Royal Mint bullion bars are purchased for investment, and the Queens Beasts are collectable. There seemed to be a lot of scope for income from a promotional site on the name. I'm having problems in trying to value .gold names with gold producing countries in them though. US.gold must be worth a bit, but how about names like Chinese.gold or Venezuelan.gold?
