Hi,

I have been looking at local TV production companies to make a short Video for me as an Intro to my latest development but have been rather shocked at costs they have mentioned so wondered if there was a service over the internet for getting video ads made up at a better price??

I am not sure if such a service exists but if so then what i am wanting is simply somebody to stand on camera and read a script i have given them which will servce as an Intro to the website and how to navigate your way around the site. I also want my company Logo placed on the Video and maybe also at the end of the Video.

Sounds simple doesnt it??
I have asked Local companies (im in Glasgow, Scotland) and they have told me they would ask for anywhere between £250 - £1200 per minute of Video + extras for the actor/actress or whoever appears on camera.

SO does anyone know of a company who could make up such a Video to my instructions at a reasonable cost?

I know many of you will think "Its a simple Video then why not find a pretty girl to appear on camera and shoot it yourself?"
The answer is im busy and i want it done properly!

The type of video i was thinking of is the girl who is on Home page of Chime.tv right now who give you a short guide to that site. I would like something like that but a little more polished and less amateur/fun.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help (to be honest im very naive & inexperienced with Video in general right now)

Hey Ronnie how u doin. If you need music for the video, I'm your man!

Anyway, I might have a tip for you. There's a good guy not far from me who does all my video transfers for client showreels. I think he might be able to help. I think he does this sort of thing.

Will PM you, just got to check my address book...

There was a site listed in the last Entreprenuer Mag for getting that done really cheap. You have to have a web cam and mic it said. I'll look it up when I get home tonight.

Best place for low budget and good quality would be to go to film schools and colleges/universities with a film program. It is a win-win for both parties, imo.

I think hes done that SKG as I told him the same thing in another thread. I cant see why he cant get anyone really as thats what I did here also - they were lining up for the opportunity. it takes one phone call to the school. beats me.

Video For Profit dot com is another alternative. It something like $300 for a 30 second clip. Multi level marketing stuff involved too.

Thanks for all the replies and PM's, looks like a number of us have faced the same problems with Video costs lately.

I have tried contacting my local Colleges who do Film & TV courses but as yet have had no reply (only 2 weeks ago though)
After talking to a few people who have had same experiences i think what i will do is contact as many College & Universities as possible & also advertise the job on sites like Craigslist or other clasiffieds.

I was ideally hoping for somebody local as it could be easier to build a relationship but it all depends on experience and budget right now.

Its a steep learning curve dealing with the whole video side of things for me as i have No Video skills at all and dont understand half the stuff people ask me about video needs, i cannot wait until i get this site going and then can pass it on to somebody else to look after if it all goes well%%-

This is true , but not at the end of semester or during the summer. Come September the college students who need to produce some sort of video media by semester end will be more approachable for such projects.

Cheers!

Here's the link for ITVweb.
I didn't read through it all so I can't tell what the prices are...
