Free hosting?

Hi

I see loads of people on this forum offer free web hosting. Thats great and all but aren't you wasting money?

Don't you have to pay to re-sell hosting, or are you hosting it yourselves?

Also, I need hosting and I am looking for a way to set up my own hosting company, but I don't know where to get the kinda thing that other people seem to have. The only hosting re-sellers I can find charge.

If there is no such thing as a domain re-seller, I am looking for free, or low cost web hosting (I already have the domain name).

yea i almost went there cause it was cheap (10gb space, 100gb bandwidth, $3 a month... then i saw: first month only, $30 a month after :P)

If you think about it though. If you were to set up your own computer with a webserver on it, it would cost you the best part of a grand? right?

If you offer cheap hosting, won't more people host with you? Obviouslly not rediculous offers because the more space + bandwidth you offer someone, the less space + bandwidth left for other people, but wouldn't it be possible?

Just a thought.

I use Hive too. Great service!

I wish I'd found them before signing up with another host, who won't cancel my account after half a dozen emails. They keep saying, "just try this to make sure" and I tell them to cancel my account but they still don't!

Anyway, go with Hive Hosting, or Deonix Hosting (same company). Deonix has a plan for $2/month, while Hive has a plan for $3/month. With Hive, you get a free domain name and much more bandwidth.
