Would a four letter word .net domain have much value? It gets about 50 visitors per month.

The word is an english dictionary word and is pretty general.

What would you estimate its value at without knowing the actual word

Depends what the word is... if you want a real appraisal, you should let us know what the domain name is. If you are getting 50 uniques each month, that is pretty decent if the site isn't developed.
