The name refers to the location at securities/trading firms where Forex activity takes place.

The problem I see with this one is that there is no actual "Forex Marketplace". It's a term to describe the practice of currency trading which is as decentralized as any market could ever possibly be.

The word "FOREX" is actually a registered trademark, however it doesn't seem to be actively enforced possibly because of the wider meaning ascribed to it. Most firms don't have a "Forex Desk" they have a "Currency Trading Dept."

That being said I've seen comparable sales in the mid $xxx range and the trademark doesn't seem to discourage anyone.

I did a forex trademark search and only two "live" trademarks came up for "forex", and both had nothing to do with foriegn exchange/currency trading.

Each two were building products
1. oriented strand board structural panels made of wood and lumber
2. CLOSED CELL PLASTIC SHEET MATERIAL FOR GENERAL INDUSTRIAL USE, AND FOR GENERAL PURPOSE INSULATION, PACKING, AND SEALING PURPOSES

No one would claim they own the exclusive use of "FOREX" as used in the foriegn exchange market.

But I found 30 live TM registrations that contained the term "forex". All related to currency trading. Still, you're right, there's no risk in owning this name.

I would build it out into a mini-site, there's a ton of affiliate programs out there.
