First Word Press Design

Hello everyone,

I'd like feedback on my first wordpress design.

Yes i am selling it, saddly =(, i love it but design time took about 55 mins.

Was bored last night any feedback would rock.

Looks pretty good. I like the blue color, just enough intensity to be memorable while it's not "too blue" to become annoying. However, i'm still a friend of contrasts, so i'm wondering how it would look with a tad bit darker backdrop, or if it would over emphasize the blue? I'd consider to add side bars for quick topics, sky scraper advertising, etc. and frame them with the same blue, just to make sure that the visual concept is continued from the main frame that you already built.

Overall, very good looking design.

Thanks for feed back.

I personly thought the background looked a tad bit to blue when darker. Which is why i stuck with this really light baby blue.

Also i wanted the text to stand out a bit more, the color of the background was really close to the color fo the font.

I'd be sure to do a right side bar as well in my next design.

I'd also like to hear from other peoples opions as well. I enjoy getting feedback only way i learn.

feedback:

artwork / overall design:
very good, interesting without being over the top. In my experience, that's a rare talent.

colour:
the blue text is too light to read. hurts my eyes, no way would I read an entire blog entry in that style!

conclusion:
definite talent, but need to research usability guidelines.


hope that helps BMFX, no offence intended, the most valuable skill of the best designers I have ever worked with is: ability to take criticism without taking it personally. Stepping up and asking for feedback is a good move, and I applaud you for that.

No, i was kinda wanting some critisem.

I figured the text would be the down fall in the end.

But hey i was board and wanted to finsh it up to be honest haha.

Nice blend of color and pleasing to the eye (at least to me). It would definitely help if the text is in black.

It has sort of a serene feel to it, I like it :IMHO:

With that layout I'd definetly go with black text. It would make it much easier to read against the background.

Maybe even put somekind of border around the boxes, kinda of define them a little more. Something like a 1 pixel border would do wonders.
