Please appraise my latest acquisition; Ferrets.com. I just placed it with DS, so don't have detailed traffic stats, but it consistently had an Overture rating of over 400.

Wow

Wow! We haven't seen a good domain like this in awhile. Definitely a high $x,xxx to low $xx,xxx domain as this could be used as the king of all ferret sites. Not sure how much money there is to be made with ferrets but I know they are a popular alternative pet. Definitely a nice domain.

LOTS of potential End user "leads", in my view ... I'd be contacting each and every one of them in order to secure the best price possible, if it were mine. Keep tracking the traffic stats, and relay this information on in your professional End user marketings, as well.
How much did you acquire it for, and when? :talk:

I've only ever known one person with the desire to have one as a pet, but it obviously has its own demand/niche/commerce ... perhaps more research here with respect to how much they sell for, the strength of the marketplace, profit potential, etc. may be in order to "fine-tune" a reasonable Asking price, in my view. :talk:
Generally, I'd say $2,500 - $3,875+/+ in a (relative) "Quick Sale" at the End user level ... potentially much more with further research and ongoing marketings, as mentioned.
All the best!

I think, b/c it's illegal to have ferrets as pet in state of California, Massachusetts, not sure about New York. Actually, it is very nice playful pet.

Hypothetical Question....

If you owned the name, would you:

1. Mine the traffic, via PPC?
2. Develop the name?
3. Forward to an affiliate program that pays 5%?
4. Create a forum, and link to the supply store?

Definatatly 2: Develop the name quickly... and sell it :)

2 3 and 4.

all those you can do at the same time. I would do all three by selling ferrets 9affil if needed) and amazon to ferret supplies as well as create an owners forum..etc.

best of luck.. you have a wonderful domain.

At least a low $xxx just selling the domain without development. Cool domain! very nice :)

If I were you, I'd lease the name. Approach the sites CoolJeff has listed and see if they are interested in the traffic. I don't think you'll make a heck of a lot with the affiliate programs. Ad Sense might make a bit more.
