Hi,

I know I might sound like a noob, but I've never really bothered doing this... so here it is:
I need to be able to send fax via computer and also receive fax via computer.
I have dsl and a modem....
Anyone got any ideas?

My fax is sorta broken, only scans 1/2 of page, and I don't think I should go buy a new fax heh
Any help would be appreciated :xf.love:

most dial-up (56K) modems are "fax modems"...

You should be able to send/receive through your modem.

I just bought a network printer/fax/scanner/photo printer/copier and have Vonage.com...

either buy a new fax machine or depending on how often you need to fax, go to a place like Kinkos or local printing shop and use their service.

You can use your old 56k modem and phone line to send a fax.

You might have software on your modem driver disk that will allow you to do this if not you can download the needed driver and or software from the companys website.

What type of fax you got, is it like a scanner or is it more like a printer that feeds the paper through using a roller? If its the roller type could be that it just needs a clean on the inside!

Hope that helps...

XP has a built in fax software, under control panel>>printers and faxes>> install fax..

Thoe am sure this will still need a normal modem, not sure never used it..

There are other third party services like efax.com thoe theres a price involved..
