Yes, "writ" is a legal term. Did not make a typo for "write" Am curious though, how does escrowcode.com sound like the name of a phishing site? Isn't escrow for software code on the rise?

I agree there is a need for a digital escrow service, atleast more of them. However, I am not much of a fan of EscrowCode.com - I think this is unlikely to find an interested party.

I understand the meaning of writ, English is my native language. The 2 words together don't make sense to me. I've never heard the term. Usually it is 'raise a petition' and 'issue a writ'

Escrowcode. I gave my first impression on looking at the term. People look for codes to hack things,
get cheats for games etc.

Anyway, a writ petition is actually an extension of the term "issue a writ" . It is a valid legal term. I see what you mean though. Maybe the search term is not as popular. Will keep that in mind.
