Ok so what to do. I reg'ed hottopic.biz I know it is a company name that gets tons of hits and maybe it is a copyrited name or not. So with that said is it worth anything to those that collect and trade popular company names or tm names?

ovt over 170,00 without the .biz of course.

I don't believe it's profitable to buy trademarked names in non .com extensions, since development possibilities are limited and they're not likely to get any traffic. There's the off chance that the company would want to aquire the names from you, but they're more likely to go the legal route to do so.

The flip side of this domain is "hot topic" could be considered a generic term and if you created a site that was completely unrelated to the "Hot Topic" stores it could be considered a legitimate use. A current events site for example.
