I don't know if this is the right forum for this question, but here goes:

I can align a layer so many pixels from the top and left of the browser window (and also align it to another layer), but how can I align a layer so many pixels from the top and left of a table (in other words, if I center the table on the page, the layer moves with it in stead of staying in its orignal location)

Hope this is clear - thanks for the help!

I think it would be helpful if you explain what way you are trying to align your elements? With CSS or some other way?

clarification

Currently i have a table, aligned to the left of the page. On top of this, i have a layer that is aligned to the browser window. Because the table is aligned to the left, it appears as if the layer is aligned to the table. However, if I were to center the table on the page, the layer would stay where it is and no longer be where I want it to be relative to the table.

The page I am talking about is here:

http://personalpages.tds.net/~ljackson/Assets/Pages/main.htm

The scrolling section under "news" is the layer.

Hope this helps clears up my question...
