Always try to package them together if you have both, otherwise you'll be stuck with a .net that you can't give away. Sell the .com and offer the .net as a freebie.

In the future, save your money on registering the identical .net and buy more .com's instead.

I would agree with that, because there are equally usable domains that are still unregistered. You will have a tough time commanding a premium if a potential buyer can simply register a new name that is similar quality.

Another thing, if you are planning development, lose the '3' in Doom3.

Why? Because once Doom 4 comes out, or Doom Ultra, etc, Doom3 will be irrelevant. It may seem like a long time off now, but the time will come. You don't want to have to rebrand your entire site to keep up with the new games. It gives you room to expand.

I would say go to a doom messag eboard and try your luck there. I would take anything you could get for them in hopes to recouping your reg fee. But you could even make a few bucks if you put a bulletin board system on there before you sold it to a doom player. Good Luck.
