Just picked this up.

Don't have any traffic stats through yet.

Would be interested in opinions.

Thanks

The good thing about this name is the sense of 'size' that it has. 'Depot' gives me the image of a large warehouse, compared to a shop which has a sense of 'smallness' to it.

Does'nt it mean the same thing in different countries ?

ie: Shop for european market & Depot for the American market ? ...Like HomeDepot etc

...Just wondering cos I have CellPhoneDepot.c**

.

CellPhoneDepot.com is a nice one!

Google.de shows up 2.23 million results for "Depot"

Google.fr shows up a similar value - 2.03 million

OVT shows 3.5k searches in the France, 3.6k in Germany, 9k in the US. So yes, the usage is fairly well distributed.

Btw, what kinda traffic is it getting? I suspect people looking for Home Depot or Office Depot have to type this name in...

I'm sure it is getting its traffic for the generic term. This is def. not a TM domain.

I'm putting up a new site. As its 12th in google for the generic term 'depot' I dont want to ruin its ranking by putting up a parking page.

It might be a while before I get a new site up though, as I'm off for 2 weeks to africa in a couple of days.

I appreciate all the appraisals/opinions. Keep them coming.

I estimate the value to be $48.51. Therefore I am willing to give you a crisp $50 bucks.

crisp $50 bucks

I dunno, might be counterfeit. I'd have thought about $50 used notes, but can't accept $50 crisp. sorry.

The name does have an OVT w/e of 91, so I'm guessing it gets close to 30-60 uniques per day. Nice! I would also guess that most of it is USA traffic. If even 20% of that converts, you have some very healthy revenue from it.

btw, if you're not taking navigator72's offer of $50, may I up it to $75? Paid via Escrow immediately :) ;)

Hell I would offer a "crisp" $15,000. Your choice of money bags with dollar sign or brief case with a nice "click".

I thought maybe it fell of the back of a truck......

How'd you score that name?

Seems like some potential *if* you can get one of the large chains to buy it. I bet they'd compete to be able to have it direct traffic to them!

Wow. Nice score!

Let us know if an auction starts. I want to watch it.

MegaDepot.com

I picked up MegaDepot last month. Any idea what this is worth?

Although an old thread I'd put it at $20k (bear in mind that this is for resellers; the possibility for an end user to want this is huge and they would be prepared to fork out $xxx, xxx).

Interesting name, thanks for bumping it up.

You really can't appraise this name with 'searches a month' and that kind of stuff. This is a perfect example of a highly brandable term, people remember it, in case someone builds a huge business on it. Selling this to a reseller would be a domain crime.

IMHO, if a company is really interested in building an online warehouse on this domain, receiving $x.xxx.xxx is nothing to be ashamed of, but thats an if. I would hold on to it until a serious offer is made.

:gn: :gn: Fantastic. I would not sell for less than $300,000.
