Hey all,

Bought this one off TDNAM acutions, (unfortunately forgetting the renewal fees.) Supposedly it was getting 90 page impressions a month. I just, literally a few minutes ago, set it up with cashparking at GoDaddy, or I may switch to the new google parking service.

I will update you with actual when i get them. But so far what are first impressions.

Thanks

EDIT:

After finding out I don't have a godaddy cashparking account, and experiencing the pain of google parking, I parked them at sedo.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I think it's a dud. there are no backlinks to explain the traffic

Yup. I was a little disappointed when I found out how much I paid, accidentally. I feel like it could be type-in, but again, I will update with screenshots if there is traffic.

If you make money off this (Dell, the computer company), you may face possible TM problems.

If you set up a site for Dell employees to vent, that would be okay (freedom of speech), but you would have to remove ads from it.

Very true and good point. As far as i know, correct me if I'm wrong, if dell really had a problem, all they do is just take the domain name. I believe this is correct?

I wasn't too pleased with the purchase, which is why i'm getting it appraised, just to see how far I got set back :)

My crystal ball is telling me it's worth somewhere between 0% and 50% of what you paid.

Low range = P (price paid) X .0
High range = P (price paid) X .5

Best of luck with future registrations.

If Dell have a problem... and they you've parked it... and obviously via parking you intend to make money - then yes they will do more than just take the domain away. You can end up getting into a lot more trouble than its worth.

If you develop it, you also cannot put ad's related to dell. So... all in all, you won't be making money from it - so is it really worth developing? Probably not.

Delete and cut your losses.

Worth: $0.

Better luck with future registrations.

:)

Personally IMO i wouldn't create such a site. Many companies and the law see such sites as bordering defamation. All it takes is for an unsuspecting user to 'word' their statments publically against dell as fact rather than opinion and that is legally defamation (unless of course they can prove their statements).

Plus i love dell :)

It's most-likely worth $0 because of the TM issue..

Lesson-to-learn: Don't buy or register domains with a TM in it! ;)

If the OP would want to develop a complaint site with no ads, he would be covered under the First Amendment.

In the U.S., one is allowed to state an opinion, even a negative one.

However, the owner of the complaint site would do well to allow the company to respond to complaints.

Unless the OP is passionate about creating a complaint site, he would do well to forget it. They are a hassle and they make nothing for the webmaster.

On a related note...

Funny you should post about this domain as I just stumbled across this site today, http://ihatedell.net/forum/phpBB2/

Along with consumer complaints, it also has a section for employees.

I believe I saw a poster with the nick of "DellHell" (but I could be wrong...).

Disclaimer - You may not want to visit this site if you own a Dell, have had problems with a Dell product or have been through their "tech support" -- ESPECIALLY if you suffer from high blood pressure or have heart problems -- as it may cause a significant and unsafe rise in your blood pressure. You've been warned!!
