Hi,

I have seen some people say I should use Css instead of tables, but from the tutorials I have seen (mainly on www.echoecho.com), they seem to be integrated INTO tables.

I am going to fully redesign my website soon, and I want to do it properly, so can someone please explain if I should use Css or tables, or a mix of both?

Thanks

Todd

CSS only defines how the content should look. You are going to use tables in the site anyway, but you will define the position of that table in the css file for example in CSS file you will have:

table { align: center; }

Now in the html of php document whatever is between <table> tag will be centered.

Actually, there's no need for tables at all, however they may be easier for beginners.

What they mean is don't use tables for layout. Use them only for tabular data display.

Once you learn & understand CSS/HTML, a whole world opens up. Pay attention to Floats and Clears specifically ;)

I myself was in your shoes last year and I honestly feel learning & using the CSS non-table method was one of the best descisions I've ever made.
