Are .com's the only thing worth any money or should I try to reg the .net's of my good domains too?

Depends on the relevancy of the domain with the ".NET", as well as the domain name itself, IMHO. Also, if you're planning on developing the ".COM", the ".NET" may prove useful/complementary down the road. Having the ".COM" is the key, though ... as I see it.

Alot of great .coms still have the .nets available. That should tell you something.
