Is there any use for registering a domain name which would be perfect for a specific company, and also includes the name of the company, with the idea of selling it to them? Or will they just automatically sue you?

For example, say you heard Nike wants to open a new division specialized in selling glasses, so you quickly buy nikeglasses.com and nikeglasswear.com.

Is it reasonable to think they might give you a relatively small amount for it instead of going through the trouble, money and time of going to court to get it for free? Has anybody done these kind of trades?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
They have lawyers on retainer. They can file a UDRP. No court case.

It's a very bad idea. It also gives the rest of us a bad name. DON'T do it.
